The online festival selections offer the flexibility to view 12 must-see films on your own schedule Sept 27-Oct 3. This allows you to view the twelve official selections of the 2021 Annual Barrie Film Festival, subject to your region. All prices include HST. Films are ONLY AVAILABLE IN CANADA, except where noted.

Note: Juniper and Kímmapiiyipitssini-The Meaning of Empathy are both only available in Ontario.

Some Navigating Tips:

The main link you will need to enjoy the virtual festival selections is the VIRTUAL EVENTS page. It is here that you will see all the films being shown online and it is from this same page that the films are ordered and viewed as well.

The first thing you’ll need to do is set up an account (unless you already have one created in the Barrie Film Festival ticketing system). If you already have an account you will sign in with your email and password and if you don’t remember your password or you have an account but have never used it online (only at box office), there is an option to click to reset it.

To create an account click on the little person icon on the top right, to the left of the shopping cart and “SIGN IN”. Then click the bottom gray box that says: “Don’t have an account yet? Click here to sign-up”. Fill in all the areas that have an asterisk next to them and once you’ve done that the little icon on the top right will change to your initial. There are three horizontal lines, top left (next to the Barrie Film Festival logo) to help you navigate to either purchase a VIRTUAL PASS or to go back to VIRTUAL EVENTS (which is the same film listing page you started from). It is here that you can learn more about each film, but it is also from here that you will order and watch the films.

By clicking “View More” beneath a film you are interested in, it will take you to that film’s page. From here you can “Buy Tickets” individually or if you have a Virtual Pass, it will ask you if you wish to use your benefit now, select “yes” if you are ready to watch. Alternatively if you click “No” you may check out with a $0 ticket and receive a confirmation email. But the first “yes” option is more immediate. Remember don’t start a stream until you are ready to watch it, as the stream is only available 50 hours once you hit play.

Currently you can stream through the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. For both PC and Apple computers, we recommend that you use the latest version of your browser.
