Tell a story…

Filmmaking inspiration and helpful tips

The Barrie Film Festival wants to empower you to tell stories that have never been told: Your Stories.

We want to give you some ideas and useful techniques through this series of videos that range from: short films, “How To” talks with filmmakers, to instructional tips that you can try yourself.

With the impact of COVID-19 many are struggling. Isolation can bring about feelings of anxiousness, having to be physically apart from friends, peers, support systems from outside of the home, as well as potentially missing important life events. We want to encourage you to turn to creating films as an outlet for self-expression. Use technology readily available to you and make a movie. It all starts with an idea. Tell a short story, create a video diary, put poetry to moving pictures, experiment with stop animation or put pictures to music…

We hope that you feel inspired by what you see.

Unleash your creativity!
